"He HEALS the brokenhearted & BINDS up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

Mending broken relationships

Many things in life hinder our abilities to achieve the life we want. Our wounds, defense mechanisms, personalities and belief systems have helped us survive but at some point these begin to hinder the life we want. Change is hard and painful but something you do not have to do alone. God created us to desire relationships. The gospel message at it's core is clear about having a personal intimate relationship between God and us, that also extends towards others.

Stronghold's will hinder our relationships. The believer’s approach to pulling down strongholds is to present the truth of God’s Word and let the Holy Spirit reshape our thoughts, heart attitudes, and perceptions Hebrews 4:12.   "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6. We need to slow down and pay attention to what are thoughts are in order to know what we are believing and how those thought's are affecting our perceptions.

The highest level of intimacy, requires the greatest amount of trust in relationships. It is only when we feel truly safe with somebody, that we become willing to share the deepest core of who we are. It's up close and personal. The bible calls this the inner man. God says in Psalm 51:6, "Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom." True intimacy is feeling that closeness, fellowship, communion, friendship and understanding within the relationship. Being affectionate, creating that sense of belonging through love, trust and safety is how God created us physically, emotionally, sexually and spiritually. We believe, through personal experience, that we need to be aware of how we are building relationships and connections.

TESTIMONY

I went through Women Skills with Emily in the fall of 2023. The material itself is great, bringing together the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects of healing. And Emily is wonderful. A blessing in my life! She is kind, warm, thoughtful; encouraging while being respectful of your boundaries; and is Spirit-filled, which makes all the difference. With help from Emily and the Holy Spirit, I:

- accepted the awareness of my destructive thoughts, behaviors, and coping mechanisms.

- learned to replace those things with my peace cycle truths and actions.

- learned to be aware of and be honest about my feelings.

- faced my deep fears of rejection and my coping mechanisms of anger or running away, and I got to put overcoming them into practice, by God's perfect orchestration of events. I grieved; took responsibility for my own actions, learned to let those around me take responsibility for their own, forgave myself and those who hurt me, and let go of blame and bitterness.
